Beach brings 28 years of information technology publishing experience and knowledge to his role as publisher of IDG's CIO magazine. A prolific presenter, Beach is a highly regarded spokesperson throughout the United States and global technology industry. He has testified before both the US House and Senate and is frequently quoted by major media organizations such as CNN, USA Today, The New York Times, San Francisco Chronicle and San Jose Mercury News. As CIO magazine's resident expert on the CIO Magazine Tech Poll, he has provided commentary to a number of media outlets including Reuters, Business Week, The Associated Press and CNBC. Beach has served on the United States Department of Commerce's National IT Workforce committee and headed a special United Nations multinational team that assisted developing countries to deal successfully with the Y2K issue. Beach is a highly sought after speaker for technology industry and business events and his counsel and input are often sought by today's IT industry leaders. He is an overseer of the Computer Museum and serves as chairman of the Tech Corps, an international non profit organization dedicated to coordinating the education technology efforts of 10,000 tech professionals worldwide. In addition, Beach serves on the board of directors of NetDay, another non-profit focused on technology issues in America's K-12 classrooms. Prior to joining CIO magazine, Beach was president of two IDG publications, Computerworld and Network World. He joined IDG after a ten year career at McGraw-Hill Incorporated.
