Forging new IT/business strategies for 2010 is the core mission for the CIO Year Ahead Summit, which brings senior IT executives together from around the nation together for three days of in-depth peer discussions and idea exchange.
The Year Ahead Summit is also the place to connect with the six newest members of the CIO Hall of Fame, which includes some of the most respected members of our enterprise CIO community. (To see a list of the 2008 Hall of Fame honorees, please click here). Attendees will get the chance to tap into the expertise of these world-class CIOs during a special Hall of Fame panel discussion and interactive workshop on "Preparing for the Recovery: Approaches, Advice and Action Plans."
Our opening keynote on Monday will deliver a provocative message about your jobs as executive managers ("to bring good answers to bad circumstances") as international marketing guru Stan Slap talks about how leading organizations create winning cultures in any business climate. On Tuesday morning, we'll open with CIO Anna Ewing of NASDAQ and a riveting story of struggle and transformation from the heart of the financial industry.
Other conference highlights include sessions such as:
• "Flawlessly Execute Your Strategy – For Free!" on zero-cost ways to improve IT project performance and speed decision-making.
• "Culture as Culprit: The Real Story Behind Business Intelligence Project Failures," on creating performance-directed cultures to manage change.
• "The Cloud Computing Vendor Challenge Panel," with CIOs versus IT suppliers in a lively exchange on the challenges of this new model.
• "Private Equity Operating Partner: New Career Path for CIOs?" on a potential next role for CIOs moving toward business roles.
• "Connecting Point Leadership Forum: A CIO Executive Council Workshop," providing small-group peer discussions and fresh perspective on key leadership topics.
Summit attendees will delve into the most compelling topics in business leadership and IT value delivery today. Social media will also play a newly prominent role at this year's event, with the "Twitter Experience" run by our CIO Executive Council members.
